Seniors go down fighting!

Colm Mitchell
Battled Hard

Tooreen went down to near neighbours and county champions Ballyhaunis in the second round of the TJ Tyrell Senior Championship. Dispite a great start through a Stephen Hunt goal, Tooreen laboured through the first half and were lucky to be only seven points down at the break.

Following a few harsh words at the recess, Tooreen came out full of fire to try to salvage some pride in the second half. It started poorly, conceding 1-2 very quickly, Tooreen began to dominate the midfield exchanges and managed at least to break even with their opponents for the rest of the game. Towards the final whistle a small melee broke out and Micheal Cunnane got his marching orders along with Ballyhaunis man Hugh McKermitt.

Team: Adrian Hession; Michael Healy, Paul Hunt, Colm Mitchell; Greg Henry, Sean Ganley, Joey Ganley; Kenny Feeney, Pat Freyne; Brian Delaney, Nicholas Freyne, Shane Muldoon; Martin Devaney, Stepen Hunt, Fergal Delaney.
